Clark Library Gallery: “Searching for Homunculus”
The opening reception for Searching for Homunculus will be in the Clark Library Gallery on October 27 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The exhibit features the work of Mark Pitzer, psychological sciences, a behavioral neuroscientist who studies diseases of the brain and teaches about brain evolution and function. He is also an artist and creates sculptures and paintings that explore the disparities between how we experience conscious awareness and how the brain may actually function. We invite you to engage your brain with his work and stop by the reception, or view the art on display in the gallery through December.

Remembering Howard Hall: New Library Gallery Space
The Clark Library has a new gallery space on the main floor. We invite you to visit the first exhibit, which features Howard Hall images and artifacts. Howard Hall was at the intersection of campus life for nearly a century and the historic photographs capture its construction and uses over the years. The exhibit also includes a time capsule found in the cornerstone during the building’s deconstruction. The exhibit will be up through September 15 and also on September 21, the day of the groundbreaking for Dundon-Berchtold Hall.

Scheduling Library and Digital Lab Sessions
As the semester approaches, now is a great time to schedule sessions before the calendar fills up. The Clark Library offers instruction in two areas: information literacy and multimedia skills. For information literacy, Librarians collaborate with faculty to tailor sessions to students’ research needs. The Digital Initiatives Coordinator provides assistance with creating assignments and instructs classes that have multimedia projects such as creating videos, digital posters, digital photography, and websites.
To request a session for your class, please email preferred dates and times, along with course number to Stephanie Michel, michel@up.edu, for information literacy and Jose Velazco, velazco@up.edu, for multimedia skills.
Fall 2017 Course Reserves
