The University of Portland is proud to host the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk on Sunday, October 19. This annual event brings the community together to celebrate survivors, raise awareness, and support lifesaving research and programs. All UP faculty, staff, families, and students are invited to attend or participate in the walk.

New Campus Events Policy Now in Effect: Designation for Events & Sponsored Events
The University of Portland has launched a new policy to help clarify how campus events are designated and managed. This policy will help prioritize our students, faculty, and staff while still welcoming mission-aligned external groups to campus.
Upcoming High School Graduations On Campus (Jun. 5-12)
Portland area high schools will be holding their commencement rehearsals and exercises in the Chiles Center through June 12, and parking is likely to be impacted on campus as well as in the surrounding neighborhood. (Read More)
EMS (Event Management System) Drop-in Hours
University Events is pleased to offer regularly scheduled EMS drop-in training and support sessions one Wednesday per month in Shiley Hall. These sessions can also be a great opportunity for one-on-one EMS training for yourself or new teammates joining your department. (Read More)
“Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” (Oct. 20)
In partnership with the American Cancer Society, UP will host the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walkathon on October 20 starting at 9 a.m. Making Strides of Oregon and SW Washington is the premier breast cancer walk in the area. (Read More).
Road Closure Notice: Shiley-Marcos Center for Design & Innovation Dedication Event (May 3-4)
We are excited to announce the dedication event for the new Shiley-Marcos Center for Design and Innovation. As we prepare for this special occasion, we would like to inform you of a temporary road closure on campus. The road leading to the Shiley Marcos Center for Design and Innovation will be closed starting at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, and will reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
