First UP Holy Cross Pilgrimage: June 23-July 2

June 22, 2018

From June 23 to July 2, a group of 12 senior faculty members will be walking in the footsteps of Blessed Basil Moreau and other figures crucial to the founding of the Congregation of Holy Cross in Basse-Normandie, France. For the first few days, they will be steeped in the history of the order, then spend the duration of the pilgrimage reflecting on and planning for their role as co-disciples among the men and women of Holy Cross congregations.

Members of the UP community are invited to be present by praying for the inspiration and well-being of these twelve colleagues: Elise Moentmann, Julie Kalnin, Ken Lulay, Stephanie Michel, Tisha Morrell, Lorretta Krautscheid, Eddie Contreras, Mark Kennedy, Lisa Reed, Tom Greene, Fr. Charlie Gordon, C.S.C., and Karen Eifler.

Two years in the planning, this first pilgrimage is sponsored by the Garaventa Center, SOPHIA, and the provost’s office. All UP deans also allowed faculty members’ professional development funds to be used for this formational experience. The needs of the UP community will be remembered faithfully in the daily prayers and reflections of the group.
