Stacey Boatright Farewell Party, Sept. 7

The School of Education is hosting a farewell gathering for Stacey Boatright on Friday, September 7, at 3:30 p.m., in Franz Hall room 120. All are welcome to come wish Stacey good luck and farewell as she transitions to a new position as director of administration and strategic communication at the Oregon Alliance for Independent Colleges & Universities.

Stacey began her career at UP in the School of Nursing in 2005, immediately after earning her bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from UP. Stacey moved to the School of Education in 2014 as administrative assistant to administration and staff and was promoted to programming and operations manager in 2015. In 2016, she was awarded UP’s highest staff honor, the Margaret Henzi Award for administrative/office support employees who perform their job in an exemplary manner.

Founders’ Day Submissions Due Thursday, March 3, 11:59 p.m.

founders day girl copySubmissions for the University’s annual Founders’ Day celebration are due Thursday, March 3, by 11:59 p.m. Faculty who have questions about the Founders’ Day schedule and how to submit student presenters’ data for the schedule can speak to their school’s liaison (listed below) or contact Michele Leasor, program coordinator, at 8264 or leasor@up.edu.

The Founders’ Day celebration will take place on Tuesday, April 12. Four sessions of student presentations will be held in place of regularly scheduled classes, and all students and faculty are encouraged to take part in the day’s events, featuring senior presentations, undergraduate research, panel discussions, recitals, and more.

DNP Candidate Presentation

1nursing150Jason Kephart, a 2014 doctor of nursing practice—family nurse practitioner candidate, has been working over the past year to complete his practice improvement project (PIP), a scholarly project designed to improve practice or patient outcomes. Kephart will be presenting his PIP poster on Monday, September 9 9 to 9:30 a.m., in Buckley Center room 310. The title of his presentation is “Secondary data analysis of nurse practitioner workforce characteristics: Implications for the future of primary care in Oregon.” All interested parties are invited to attend his presentation; RSVPs are not necessary. Nursing Doctorate Presentations

The 2013 doctor of nursing practice/family nurse practitioner graduates have been working diligently over the past year to complete their practice improvement projects (PIPs), which are designed to improve practice or patient outcomes. The students will be presenting their PIP posters beginning at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 29, in Buckley Center room 310.
