Lynda.com Upgraded to “LinkedIn Learning”

August 9, 2019

Lynda.com has become Linkedin Learning, according to Samuel Williams, information services. All video courses and learner progress have transitioned to the new site. When the upgrade is complete, you will receive an email inviting you to activate your new account. During the process you will be asked if you would like to connect your personal LinkedIn account to LinkedIn Learning. If you don’t have a LinkedIn profile, you can optionally create one.

Please note: You are not required to connect your personal LinkedIn account to gain access to the training available at LinkedIn Learning. If you do opt to connect your account, UP will be able to access some of your LinkedIn profile information, and LinkedIn Learning will be able to provide additional smart recommendations based on your profile information such as job title, skills, and industry.

For more information on LinkedIn Learning privacy visit the help sheet here.

If you have additional questions on the upgrade contact academic technology services & innovation at atsi@up.edu.

TLC From the TLC

January 26, 2015

lyndaThis week’s teaching resource is a collection of how-to videos for everything from creating voiceovers for lecture notes to getting the most out of  personal websites. The University’s Lynda.com is chock-full of digital resources for teaching, with videos ranging from a few minutes to several hours, and is available from the Go Media single sign-in portal. This link leads to the Lynda.com welcome page.

The Teaching & Learning Collaborative encourages faculty to scroll through the contents over a cup of coffee (compliments of the associate provost and the TLC) and see the online tutorials that are waiting to assist them. Those who are wondering where their coupon for a free Bon Appetit beverage is, please contact Karen Eifler, Garaventa Center, at eifler@up.edu.

lynda.comThe information services team is proud to offer Lynda.com to the University community, according to Sam Williams, academic technology services. Lynda.com is free to University faculty, staff, and students, who will receive unlimited access to a vast library of high quality, current, and engaging video tutorials. New courses and topics are added every week.

To view information on Lynda.com and to see a sample course playlists go to https://wordpress.up.edu/lynda/. To access Lynda.com, use Go.up.edu, the University of Portland’s new Single Sign On (SSO) solution.
