Staff awards for 2014 were presented at the annual employees’ holiday banquet on Thursday, December 18. The winners are:

• Cathy Kelley, mailing services, who won the Margaret W. Henzi Award for outstanding office/clerical employees, and was cited as “like Margaret Henzi herself, trusted and loyal, diligent and dedicated, kind-hearted and utterly devoted to the University community she thinks of as a sort of home.”
• Keltuma Salih, physical plant, who won the Ted Deiss/ Joyce and Virgil Dodson Outstanding Physical Plant Employee Award. She was praised as “an extraordinary story of faith and courage — a woman of grace and grit who exemplifies so many of the hard-working people of the Physical Plant.”
• Dwain Fullerton, development, who won the Hooyboer Outstanding Professional Staff Award. He was cited in part for “his attentiveness to detail, his meticulous preparation, his dogged persistence, his dignity, his integrity, and his cheerful and personable grace.”
• The Office of Residence Life and Academic Counselors and Martin Monto and Kristina Houck won the President’s Awards.
• Rowena Bramlette, director of budgets in the Financial Affairs Division, who won the Father Charles Miltner, C.S.C., Award, the highest employee honor bestowed by the University. She was recognized for “not only her herculean work efforts, her meticulous attention to detail, and her unquenchable thirst for personal excellence, but, most fittingly, because this recognition is right, true, fair, and just,” to a standing ovation, no less.

Employees were also honored for milestone years of service to the University, including Shawn Roberts and Buzz Stroud (35 years); Linda Cannard and Maribeth McGowan (30 years); Fay Beeler (25 years); Marc Covert, Madeline Doll, Paul Myers, Julian Ramirez, and Barbara Bodine (20 years); Mike Pelley, Kathleen Staten, Janice Lundborg, Kevin Dinsmore, Kathy Ackley, Barbara Hafer, Dale Boyd, Karl Mitts, and Monique Nguyen (15 years); Nga Nguyen, Delores Kroner, Theresa Knott, Adam Carroll, Jeff Rook, Ian Solof, Leonor Mundy, Kristina Houck, Dan McGinty, Brian Flynn, Dirk Theisen, Rowena Bramlette, and Mercedes Yanez (10 years); Anabel Lawson, Max Kalchthaler, Ruth Brown, Kristin Delenikos, Darrell Veltkamp, Peter Rooks, Hien Tran, Jody Parsons, Zanetta Holler, Laura Saldana, Peter Rachor, Rev. Gerard Olinger, C.S.C., Amy Kwong-Kwapisz, Richard Bennett, Whitney Stipetich, Amber Eubanks, Nancy Copic, Allison Lawrence, Gregory Waltner, Rev.
