Gonzaga Single Game Tickets on Sale Now
Fans, it is the day you all have been waiting for! Single game Gonzaga tickets are on sale starting Monday, January 8 at 11 a.m. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly so act fast! The men take on Gonzaga on Thursday, January 25. Men’s Basketball vs. Colorado, KGW Toy Drive
The University of Portland men’s basketball team is looking to get involved in the season of giving, and has partnered with KGW for the annual KGW Toy Drive. The team has an important upcoming game this Saturday night as they go head-to-head against Colorado, a big name Pac-12 opponent and 2015 NCAA tournament Team. The game is at 7 p.m. in the Chiles Center.
In partnering with KGW for the Toy Drive, the Pilots are offering one free general admission ticket to the game for every toy donated. Your contribution and support will greatly make a difference. Come cheer on the Pilots and help make a children’s Christmas special. We hope to see you at the game and Go Pilots!
Basketball Exhibition Games Take Center Stage at Chiles Center
Make plans to come out to the Chiles Center this week as the men’s and women’s basketball teams host exhibition games at the Chiles Center. The basketball action starts on Tuesday night as the women’s team takes the court at 7 p.m., taking on the Willamette University Bearcats. Then on Friday night the men’s team takes the court against the Evergreen State College Geoducks at 7 p.m. The basketball action concludes on Saturday night at 5 p.m. as the women’s basketball team once again takes the court versus Warner Pacific.

New Men’s Basketball Head Coach: Terry Porter
Portland basketball icon Terry Porter has been named head men’s basketball coach at the University of Portland, according to Scott Laykam, athletic director. Porter, a 17-year NBA veteran player and former NBA head coach, becomes the 21st basketball head coach in Pilot history. The University has planned an introductory press conference for Tuesday at noon at the Chiles Center to officially introduce Porter. The event will be open to the public and season ticket packages will be available for sale.
Porter was a standout for the Portland Trail Blazers and had his jersey retired by the franchise in 2009. During his 17-year NBA career, Porter averaged 12.2 points, 5.6 assists, 1.2 steals, made two All-Star appearances (1991, 1993), two trips to the NBA Finals (1990, 1992) and scored 15,586 career points. He currently ranks 14th on the NBA’s all-time assist leaderboard (7,160).
Porter brings extensive NBA coaching experience to the Pilots. He was the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks for two seasons (2003-05), including leading the team to the 2004 NBA Playoffs. He served one season as head coach of the Phoenix Suns (2008-09) and was also an assistant coach at Minnesota, Sacramento and Detroit.
A long-time team ambassador for the Trail Blazers since his retirement, Porter has not only been a fan favorite from his playing days, but also one of the biggest community contributors of any Portland-area sports personality. He is a Boys and Girls Club Hall of Fame member and still actively participates in many other community ventures.

Pilots Basketball Over Break
The Pilots men’s and women’s basketball teams will play a combined eight games over winter break at the Chiles Center. Many of these games will have special ticket deals that feature a 2-for-1 adult ticket, buy one ticket at regular price and receive a second ticket for free, and free tickets for all kids in 6th grade and under. These ticket deals are good for the men’s games against San Francisco on December 28, Santa Clara on December 30, Pacific on January 2, and Saint Mary’s on January 4. Women’s games will be UP versus Cal Poly on December 18, Gonzaga on January 3, and San Diego on January 8. To take advantage of these ticket specials, please visit the Pilots Box Office on the day of the game. The eighth home game over break will feature the Pilots men’s basketball team versus Gonzaga; ticket for this game are on sale now and can be purchased at the Pilots Box Office.

Sweet Deals on Holiday Home Basketball Games
All faculty and staff are encouraged to attend Pilot men and women home basketball games over the holiday break. As a special offer to celebrate the holiday season, all faculty and staff who present their UP ID can get two general admission tickets for free, and all kids sixth grade and under are free. This offer is good for the following men’s basketball games:
