Say Cheese, Please: Faculty/Staff Photo Session, April 24

Each month, the marketing and communications office schedules a photographer to take a small number of head shots for our online directory. The April session is Tuesday, April 24, from 11 a.m. to noon. To set up an appointment, please contact Suzanne Frey at freys@up.edu or x8676 no later than 3 p.m. on Monday, April 23. Photos will be taken in Clark Library’s Digital Lab, located on the second floor, Room 215. Only those with confirmed appointments may attend.  Please note: These appointments are limited to faculty and staff who currently do not have a professional headshot in the online directory.

Each month, the marketing and communications office schedules a photographer to take a small number of head shots for our online directory. The January session is Tuesday, March 27, from 11 a.m. to noon. To set up an appointment, please contact Suzanne Frey at freys@up.edu or x8676 no later than 3 p.m. on Monday, March 26. Got a Great Student or Alumni Story? Send it to Marketing!

The marketing and communications office is always looking for stories about the marvelously talented and dedicated students and alumni who make up our community. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents–anyone who wants to share information about what our students do to make the world a better place can now submit their stories to the marketing office at this link. The marketing office can then share information with colleagues in University relations and feature students in brochures, publications, and local and national media.

Each month, the marketing and communications office schedules a photographer to take a small number of head shots for our online directory. The January session is Tuesday, January 30, from 11 a.m. to noon. To set up an appointment, please contact Suzanne Frey at freys@up.edu or x8676 no later than 3 p.m. on Monday, January 29. Photos will be taken in Clark Library’s Digital Lab, located on the second floor, room 215. Only those with confirmed appointments may attend.

CASE Awards Keep Right On Coming

The marketing office has received notice of more CASE awards, including:

  • A Gold Medal for Innovation in Web or Social Media for the “Office Hours” feature at this link. Hannah Bogenreuther, marketing and communications, was assisted by student collaborator Mia Davis.
  • Bronze for the development/marketing team’s “All Hands on Deck” campaign
  • Silver in “Electronic Newsletters, Blogs” for the University of Portland 2017 Orientation Blog (Roya Quirk, Anna Lageson-Kerns, Jeromy Koffler)
  • Silver in “Multimedia for Special Events” for the Weekend On The Bluff admissions video (Anna Lageson-Kerns and Adam Guggenheim).

CASE Gold, Bronze Awards

The marketing and communications office received notification of two awards in the 2018 Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VIII Communication Awards competition:

  • The University’s quarterly journal, Portland Magazine, earned a Gold Medal in the “Print, General Interest Magazines, circulation 30,000-74,999” category for its spring 2017 issue, which was the last under the editorship of the late Brian Doyle. CASE’s District VIII represents 152 member institutions in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and all of western Canada.
  • The marketing and communications and development offices earned a Bronze Medal in the “Platinum: Best Practices in Fundraising” category for the “All Hands on Deck” campaign.

The August session is Tuesday, August 29, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Photos will be taken in Clark Library’s Digital Lab, located on the second floor, Room 215. Only those with confirmed appointments may attend.

The July session is Tuesday, July 25, from 11:15 a.m. to noon. This is the only time available in July. To confirm an appointment, please e-mail mktg@up.edu no later than 3 p.m. on Monday, July 24. Photos will be taken in Clark Library’s Digital Lab, located on the second floor, Room 215.
