Leadership Speaker Series: Chris Corrado, March 31
Chris Corrado, president and CEO of Environments, will speak on Monday, March 31, at 7:10 p.m., in Buckley Center Auditorium. The event, free and open to all, is sponsored by the Franz Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation and is part of the center’s Leadership Speaker Series. Corrado, a 1982 graduate of the University, serves on a number of boards including Catholic Charities of Oregon, Providence St. Vincent Medical Foundation, and Mt. Angel Abbey Foundation. He is also an advisor to the dean of the Pamplin School of Business. Corrado will speak on his career and leadership philosophy. DJ Wilson Leadership Speaker Series Lecture, March 24
DJ Wilson, president and general manager of KGW Media Group Portland since 2007, will be the guest speaker for the University of Portland’s Leadership Speaker Series at 7:10 p.m. on Monday, March 24, in Buckley Center Auditorium. Her talk is free and open to faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the public.
Wilson is president of the Professional Advisory Board for the Edward R. Murrow College of Communications at Washington State University, and has served two terms on the board of governors of the WSU Foundation. In 2012, Wilson was inducted into the Edward R. Murrow Hall of Achievement and received the Portland Business Journal “No Glass Ceiling” female leadership award.

Jill Nelson, founder and CEO of Ruby Receptionists, will speak on Monday, February 24, at 7:10 p.m., in Buckley Center Auditorium. The event, free and open to all, is sponsored by the Franz Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation as part of their Leadership Speaker Series.

Sedlar resigned from her position at New Seasons Market in 2012 to launch her own chain of small convenience stores, Green Zebra Grocery, that will feature healthier options for shoppers and focus on sustainable business practices. The first two stores are planned to open in the Woodstock neighborhood in Southeast Portland and the Kenton neighborhood in North Portland.
