All are welcome to view the first of a two-part series commemorating the beginning of World War I in 1914 with memorabilia from the personal collections of University professors Steve Mayer and John Orr, and materials from the University museum and archives collections. On display now in Buckley Center are World War I artifacts from Mayer’s great-grandfather, who served in the 72nd Canadian Infantry Battalion. The display case is located across from the Shepard Freshman Resource Center on the first floor of Buckley Center.
For more information contact Mayer at 8033 or mayer@up.edu, or Carolyn Connolly, museum coordinator, at 8038 or piatz@up.edu.
