What with cell phones, smartphones, headphones, everyone has their own phone, everywhere, all the time, and always within reach. The University Archives and Museum’s new post and display take readers to a time in the University’s history when there were just a few phones on campus; including dormitory phones that were shared (gasp!) with residents on a wing or floor. Check out the latest post at https://sites.up.edu/museum/the-future-war-human-v-machine-0-9/.
In addition to the blog post, there is a physical display about University telephone history with photos and artifacts in the Buckley Center first floor display case across from the studies abroad office. The blog post can be viewed any time; but the physical display will be up until the end of February.
