The next UP Hive event will be “Quality! For Fork’s Sake,” taking place on Wednesday, January 21, at CENTRL (1355 NW Everett Street, no. 100), starting at 5:30 p.m. Alumni panelists will explore how food is produced and critiqued, from farm practices to presentation on consumers’ and customers’ plates.
Panelist Jason Kallingal ’04 owns Life of Pie Wood-Fired Pizza, which has been named one of Portland’s best pizzas. Panelist Megan Hallstone (pictured) was born and raised on Columbia Farms, located on Sauvie Island. After graduating from college and moving around in the corporate world for several years, she traded in her sneakers for rubber boots and returned to her family’s farm.
The UP Hive is an open forum for University of Portland alumni of all ages and professions who wish to connect with each other through networking and interactive educational events.
