This is the time of year when junior faculty request letters of evaluations for tenure files. Faculty are reminded about helpful guidance for these letters found in the Guide to Tenure, Promotion, and Periodic Review (pilots.up.edu > Resources > Faculty Resources > Rank and Tenure Guidelines). The Committee on Rank and Tenure values letters that are specific and detailed, providing clear examples and evaluation. For further information, contact Michael Connolly, chair, Committee on Rank and Tenure, at connolly@up.edu.

The Committee on Rank and Tenure is in the process of updating the Guide to Tenure, Promotion, and Periodic Review. A summary of the changes and the full text are being sent to all regular faculty. Comments may also be submitted to committee chair Michael Connolly (connolly@up.edu) or any member of the committee (Barbara Braband, James Carroll, Arjun Chatrath, Jeff Kerssen-Griep, Anissa Rogers, and Christine Weilhoefer).
