Annual Fire Alarm Testing

firealarm 2Public Safety will be conducting annual fire alarm testing in all campus buildings over Winter Break. In accordance with fire life safety codes, each building that has a fire system will be tested to ensure it is operating properly. The tests will require vendors to enter offices and some residential spaces. Additionally, there will be audible fire alarms during the testing period, for short durations. The following dates are fire alarm system tests days:

12/16 Tyson & Haggerty Hall

12/17 Romanaggi Hall & Mago Hunt Center

12/18 Corrado Hall & Villa Maria Hall

12/19 Overflow from any previous tests

12/22 Kenna Hall & Shipstad Hall

12/23 Orrico Hall & Pilot House

12/24 Chiles Center & Bauccio Commons

12/26 Clark Library & Buckley Center

12/29 Waldschmidt Hall & Swindells Hall

12/30 Physical Plant & Mehling Hall

12/31 Franz Hall & St Marys Lounge

1/2 Shiley Hall

1/5 – 1/9 Overflow work and repairs.

Fire Alarm Testing Schedule

hAs a part of ongoing efforts in fire safety and alarm monitoring, the public safety office will have a vendor on campus over the next 4 weeks conducting annual fire alarm testing. Below is the schedule for the buildings to be tested:

  • Jan. 6: Bauccio Commons and Pilot House
  • Jan. 7: Mehling Hall and Orrico Hall
  • Jan. 8: Fields and Schoenfeldt Hall.

During this time there will be work crews testing each device in the assigned building, and there will be short audible tests conducted on the system. Staff are not required to leave during this time, but if for some reason the alarm is prolonged during this time period, please leave the building and organize outside the building until given the “all clear” to re-enter.
