The University Museum has created an historical display for Veteran’s Day in honor of those who served in the armed forces, especially students and alumni who lost their lives in service to our country. Included in the tribute is a very touching letter by a 1943 graduate, Corporal Charles “Eddie” McChrystal, to his parents, written about a month before his death on Christmas Day 1944 while on a special mission in France. All are welcome to view this pictorial display in the display case located near the computer stations in the Pilot House.
The University Museum is located in the basement of Shipstad Hall, room 014. Open Monday & Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and also by appointment. University faculty, staff, and students are invited to stop in and learn more about the University’s history. Contact Carolyn Connolly, museum coordinator, at 8038 or piatz@up.edu for more information.
