Thanksgiving Mail Service

_1aMailMailing services will be closed for the Thanks­giving holiday along with the rest of the campus on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28, and will have shortened hours on Wednesday, November 26, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Metered mail needs to be at the mail center no later than 2 p.m. in order for it to be taken to the Post Office at 3 p.m. Please do not drop FedEx/UPS items in the mail box slots; be sure to hand them to a real live smiling mail center employee.

Please Plan Ahead For Printing, Mailing During December Move

hAll printing jobs need to be picked up from printing services no later than Friday, December 12 since the staff will have very limited resources while moving during the week of December 15-19, according to director Mary Scroggins. Please plan ahead and/or allow additional time for printing projects. Spring 2015 course packs need to be submitted by November 28, 2014.

Mailing services now has Christmas stamps available for purchase at $9.80 per book.

As a reminder, during the December 15-19 moving time, mailing services will be severely limited in their ability to mail out letters and packages. For more information contact Scroggins at scroggin@up.edu.

Printing/Mailing Services Moving Dec. 15-19

hFaculty are asked to send spring 2015 course packs to the print shop now to ensure that they are completed on time. Please e-mail course packs in PDF format to printjobs@up.edu. Printing and mailing services will be relocating to the west end of Tyson Hall, with equipment being moved the week of December 15-19, according to director Mary Scroggins. Printing services will not be printing course packs during the week of December 15-19 and will not be fully functional in the new space until the start of the new year. Printing & Mailing Services Hours for Inauguration Events

Mailing oldThis week’s Inauguration events will impact hours of operation for the mailing services and printing services offices, according to director Mary Scroggins.

Mailing services will close at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24; there will be only one mail run to Waldschmidt Hall at 11 a.m. On Friday, September 26, mailing services will close at 2 p.m., with only one run to Waldschmidt Hall at 11 a.m. All packages and items must be ready for mailing/shipping no later than 1:30 p.m. for processing both days; packages and mail will be dropped at St. John’s postal service at 2 p.m.

Printing services will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24; closing time on Friday, September 26 will be 2 p.m. Please be sure to pick up all print jobs before this time as both printing and mailing services will be closed for Inauguration events.

Personal Mail Window Hours

packagesMailing services in Buckley Center is a service for University departments and students and it is a very busy operation throughout the year. It is not a commercial mailing center or a post office, and it does not receive extra staffing for the holiday season. In order to keep University-related mail operations running smoothly during the holidays, mailing services will be open for employees’ personal mail needs from 12 noon to 1 p.m., Monday-Friday from now through Monday, December 23, according to Mary Scroggins, mailing services. The window will be open for letters, packages, and stamp purchases. All packages must be boxed, taped, and addressed, and envelopes must be addressed and sealed. The mail center is unable to provide boxes or shipping supplies.

Personal packages for faculty and staff should also not be mailed to the University. Process­ing personal packages places a great deal of strain on mailing services staff, to the detriment of providing service for University offices and students. If you will not be home and are worried about theft, please send items to a friend or family member that will be home to accept the package in your absence.
