Walter Thompson-Hernández, a UP alum from the Class of 2009, is a former New York Times journalist and podcast host of California Love. He’s the author of The Compton Cowboys: The New Generation of Cowboys in America’s Urban Heartland, which is being adapted into a film for Fox Searchlight.
