The second subject for the “A Given Life” series is Rev. George L. Dum, C.S.C., who spent nearly all of his religious life at the University of Portland, arriving here in 1934. While serving as choral director and all-purpose music meister, he was the pride of The Bluff, composing the UP fight song and pep song, and bringing his mother, Charlotte, to campus to teach the boys piano.
