September 15 is a significant date in Holy Cross history. First, it is the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, patroness for the Congregation of Holy Cross; and second, their founder, Blessed Basil Moreau, C.S.C. was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI on this date in 2007.
By encouraging his Congregation to extend their boundaries, Blessed Basil Moreau’s work is carried on throughout Holy Cross religious in all corners of the world and right here on the Bluff, where students experience an education in faith, service, and learning.
