Within a community of given lives some are chosen to lead, not always by choice. The University’s mission, summarized as Teaching and Learning; Faith and Formation; Service and Learning, is not for students alone. The University of Portland has been a cradle of leadership for the religious of Holy Cross, who practice and model what they preach about giving of self to others. In the seventh installment of the “A Given Life” series, the focus is on leaders in Holy Cross who spent time on The Bluff working as administrators before assuming further leadership roles in the congregation.
