Thanks to a recent upgrade to the UPGuest WiFi network, campus guests will no longer need to know the UPGuest password. Instead, after connecting to the WiFi called “UPGuest,” a device will load a copy of the University’s Acceptable Use Policy for the guest to read and accept. Once accepted, access to WiFi will be granted. This process is similar to using WiFi in an airport, hotel, or café. Apple iOS and most Android devices will automatically load the interface upon connecting to UPGuest. Guests using devices that do not connect automatically (laptops and older phones) will need to open their web browser and try to load a website (preferably http://up.edu). At that point, the redirect to the Acceptable Use Policy will occur.
