The next UP Hive Network event , “IMPROVe with I mprov,” will take place on Wednesday, March 25, at 5:30 p.m., at Colorhouse (519 NE Hancock St., #B). A panel of improvisers will present ways to learn the fundamental skills of improve and how they can be applied to the business world:
- Leon Anderson has appeared in numerous comedy festivals with the improv group Whiskey Tango. By day, Leon is an engineer and uses his improvisation skills to problem solve and lead design teams.
- Rachel Van Nes graduated from UP in 2014 and serves as artistic administrative assistant at Curious Comedy Theater. Rachel got her start in improv with UP’s Bluffoons and is a proud member of Curious Comedy’s Playas as a performer, instructor and producer.
- Jed Arkley, who has 20 years of experience in improve and sketch comedy, is the founder of Arkley Rodriguez, a consulting company which helps businesses translate creative energy into workable systems that support growth and positive culture.
- Jake Michels is the educational program assistant at Oregon Children’s Theater, as well as the education director at Curious Comedy Theater. Jake produces comedy showcases and preforms regularly with the improv group Whiskey Tango.
