This week’s illumination from The Saint John’s Bible is just a portion of the enormous David Anthology from The Book of Kings. The music on this 90-second video is provided by clarinetist Jade Ward ’22.

Saint John’s Bible Moment of Beauty: The Raising of Lazarus
This week’s 90-second glimpse into The Saint John’s Bible is the illumination of The Raising of Lazarus. All the musical accompaniment for SJB moments this semester are provided by students and faculty in UP’s music programs. Violinist Lauren Guerin ’21, is the artist you will hear in this brief video.
A Moment of Beauty: Esther
This week’s 90 seconds of quiet beauty from The Saint John’s Bible takes us to Esther. Illuminator Donald Jackson strove to convey Esther’s dual identities as steadfast Jewish woman and queen of Babylon, as well as ongoing violence in the Middle East. There is also a nod to the work of Gustav Klimt. If these weekly glimpses into one of UP’s great treasures arouse questions, feel free to contact Karen Eifler, Garaventa Center, at eifler@up.edu.
Visio Divina Offers A Peaceful Pause
All are invited to step out of the storm and into the quiet of Visio Divina on Wednesday, March 25, at 12:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher. This gently guided contemplative prayer will focus on the illumination of the raising of Lazarus from The Saint John’s Bible, and offers participants a chance for their own silent reflection. Each session takes about 30 minutes; all members of the UP community are welcome to participate.
