Summer Research Poster Session

The Summer Research Poster Session is Returning to Campus. (Oct. 25)

The Office of Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement will host the University’s annual Summer Research Poster Session on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. The goals of the Summer Research Poster Session are twofold: to celebrate undergraduate research conducted by UP students during the summer and to create awareness of research experiences that other students might be interested to explore. 

Please encourage your students to stop by Franz Hall Lobby and Franz 120 on October 25 to hear from our students about their experiences!

Summer Research Poster Session: Nov. 18

Students from across campus will be presenting posters documenting the research they completed with a UP faculty member this summer. The poster session will run from 10:20 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18 and attendees can speak with student presenters via Zoom at the identified time using this link.

Summer Research Poster Session – Please share details with students

The Office of Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement will host the University’s annual Summer Research Poster Session virtually on Wednesday, November 18 from 9:15am-3:35pm. The goals of the Summer Research Poster Session are twofold: to celebrate undergraduate research conducted by UP students during the summer, and to create awareness of research experiences that other students might be interested to explore.

All current students who participated in a research experience on or off campus Summer 2020 are invited to apply to participate. Participants must be able to produce a poster that is of the quality and style of those seen at professional conferences in their discipline. The poster session will use VirtualPosterSession.org software.

Participant will be required to:

  • Submit a high-quality PDF of your poster to scholars@up.edu by Monday, November 9 at 10:00am.
  • Be available to speak with session attendees for at least one time block; see the application for time blocks.
    People who desire to participate but who are unavailable during the identified time blocks should contact Michele Leasor (leasor@up.edu).
  • Provide a Zoom meeting link where event attendees can live video conference you during the Poster Session. This link must be sent by Monday, November 9, at 10:00 a.m.

 All faculty are requested to encourage their students who had on- or off-campus research experiences this past summer to apply to participate the fifth annual Summer Research Poster Session by Tuesday, October 2. The application is available at this link. One application is needed per poster being presented, and the student presenter should complete the application.

The Summer Research Poster Session will occur on Tuesday, October 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Franz Hall lobby and Franz Hall 120. All are encouraged to come see the amazing research opportunities many of our students had this past summer, both at UP and all across the nation and world. Students will be presenting posters of their work and will be available to answer questions about their research.

Students will be sharing their results from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, in both the Franz Hall Lobby and Franz Hall 120.
