Faculty and staff are invited to attend the Campus Program Board (CPB) Rock the Bluff concert on Saturday, April 13, at 8:30 p.m. A pop rock band, Boys like Girls, will be the headline act, with support from UP student band The Harm as the opening act. Doors to the Chiles Center open at 8 p.m. There will be a beer garden in the south mezzanine area from 8-9:30 p.m. for guests of legal age. There is a limit of 2 complimentary tickets per person. Beacon Shines Again
The University’s award-winning student publication, the Beacon, has won 10 regional Mark of Excellence awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, according to advisor Nancy Copic, student activities. The competition encompasses student newspapers from Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and Alaska. The Beacon competed in the Small College or University category, with 5,000 or fewer undergraduate students. The staff will learn if the awards are for first, second, or third place at the regional SPJ conference at Gonzaga on April 12 and 13. A Taste Of The Islands: 2013 Luau
All faculty, staff, students, and the public (and their families) are invited to enjoy a night of great Hawaiian food, music, dance, and fun at the 37th annual Hawaii Club Luau on Saturday, March 23, in the Chiles Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the show will begin at 7 p.m. Students, faculty, and staff tickets are $10 (limited to one ticket; additional tickets are regular price); general admission tickets are $20; senior citizen and children under 9 are $15; and groups of 6 or more are $15 per person.
