Reunions diffuse a nostalgia glow about college and the best years of our lives. There is an element of homecoming in every class reunion. There are also the people who keep the home-fires burning (for example, Bill Reed ’72, who enters the Fifty-Year Club this June after a professional career including 30+ years of service at the University). There are some 150 current UP employees who are also UP Alumni, which is more than the total membership of the first Alumni club (1908!). Celebrating groups include the resilient classes of 2020 and 2021, 50-Year Club inductees from the classes of 1970–1972, and Villa Alumni.
The weekend kicks off on Friday with a 2020 & 2021 Commencement Celebration, followed by a Welcome Soirée & Alumni Awards. Honors program alumni will recognize John Orr’s retirement after 29 years of service to UP. Saturday features our Happy Harbors BBQ on the Academic Quad with lots food and live music!

A reminder to faculty and staff members to register for the 2017 Alumni Reunion Weekend by Sunday, June 18. All events are free for faculty and staff and their families. The faculty/staff registration form is available here (link will pre-fill the discount code).
This year, Reunion will celebrate Shipstad Hall’s 50th birthday, the Hawai’i Club, the milestone class of 1967, and all classes ending in 2 and 7.
This year also marks the inclusion of a brand new weekend highlight: the President’s Welcome Reception and Alumni Awards on Friday, June 23. Other don’t-miss events include the GOLD Backyard Bash for young alumni on Thursday, June 22; the Welcome Home BBQ on Saturday, June 24; and the All Alumni Mass & Brunch on Sunday, June 25.
