Opening Mass Regalia

Order Opening Mass Regalia by July 15

It is time for faculty to place rental regalia orders for the fall 2019 Opening Mass, according to university events. The Mass takes place on Saturday, August 24. Orders can be placed online by visiting the Josten’s website. Click on the link for Graduation Caps and Gowns, and select Faculty /Staff Rentals-Opening Mass.

The last day to order without incurring a $15 late fee is Monday, July 15, so please place orders as soon as possible. Rental regalia can be picked up on Saturday, August 24, in the Chiles Center from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Opening Mass Regalia Information

The fall 2015 semester’s Opening Mass will be held in the Chiles Center on Saturday, August 29, at 4:30 p.m., and all faculty participating will process in regalia. Faculty who plan to process and need regalia are asked to visit the Josten’s site at this link.

All orders must be submitted by Monday, July 20 to avoid the late fee. Faculty members’ deans will decide if faculty are responsible for payment or if their departments will pay for the rental.

Faculty robing for Mass will be in the north lobby of the Chiles Center; those processing should arrive no later than 4 p.m. to prepare for the procession, which will begin at 4:15 p.m. A representative from Jostens will be available to assist and answer any questions with regard to regalia. Matthew Warshawsky, International Languages and Cultures, presented “‘A Woman So Perfect Keeping the Law’: The Crypto-Jewish Faith of Justa Méndez in Colonial Mexico.” The 34th Annual Conference of the Society for Crypto-Judaic Studies (presented virtually). October 27, 2024.

David Fuentes, Nursing and Health Innovations, presented “Bridging the Skills across Human and Artificial Intelligence Coaching Strategies to Boost Peer-Coaching & Self-Coaching Skills.” Co-presenter: Dave Houglum, PhD. Lightning Session of the Catholic Higher Education and AI Conference at University of Portland. The session briefly highlighted some of the innovations concerning the use of AI in leadership coaching, practice/training, and coaching ongoing developmental growth. October, 2024. Fuentes also presented: “Using Project Management Methodologies to Align General Education Assessment, Program Review, and Accreditation Simultaneously.”; “Systems-Thinking and Relationship Building to Address Accreditation and Institutional Efficiency.”; “Promoting Institutional Culture through Assessment Policy Development and Maximizing Stakeholder Engagement through Organizational Learning.” Co-presenters: S. Dave Houglum, Director of Leadership Studies and Leadership Professor of Practice, Franz Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, presented nine, one-hour invited leadership presentations for the European Leadership Programme in Brussels, Belgium. Houglum also provided individual leadership coaching sessions to many of the programme’s Fellows and to the staff of the Jesuit European Social Center (JESC). The European Leadership Programme draws emerging leaders from across Europe to participate in a five-month leadership development programme. October 12-16, 2024.
