Violin-piano team Duo Odéon, formed in 2014 by violinist Hannah Leland and pianist Aimee Fincher, will perform for Music at Midweek on Wednesday, January 24, at 12:30 p.m., in Mago Hunt Center Recital Hall. All are welcome.
Leland and Fincher were completing their doctoral studies at Arizona State University when their mutual passion for twentieth century and contemporary music brought them together. Now they perform, research, and present the music of the American composer George Antheil along with other early twentieth century American composers. Their mission is to bring underperformed, often unpublished, music to new audiences in inviting and unconventional environments.

Singer, actress, and voice-over artist Susannah Mars will perform a solo cabaret style recital for Music at Midweek, Wednesday, October 25, at 12:30 p.m., in Mago Hunt Center Recital Hall. Mars has been featured locally in performances with The Oregon Symphony, Portland Opera, and Artist’s Repertory Theater to name but a few. Her performance is free and open t0 all.

Nico DeVilliers, a South African born, London based pianist, and co-author of Making the Tailcoats Fit: The Life and work of Richard Hageman, will perform a lecture recital featuring the music of Dutch-American composer Richard Hageman following several days of work with UP students on the song repertoire of the composer.
