After a two-year pandemic-related delay, a group of 14 senior faculty are spending 10 days walking in the footsteps of Blessed Basil Moreau, delving into the history and hopes of the Congregation of Holy Cross in its birthplace of Basse-Normandie, France. While on pilgrimage, they will consider ways to engage the community’s unique commitment to partnering with lay collaborators to bring hope and healing to a bruised, blessed world. Prayers and good thoughts are requested for Eric Anctil, Steve and Shannon Mayer, Herbert Medina, Nicole Hanig, Gregory Pulver, Stephanie Salomone, Andrew Guest, Christi Hancock, Heidi Senior, Shaz Vijlee, Brian Fabien, Casey Shillam, and Karen Eifler.
Holy Cross Pilgrimage
Oui, Whee, We: Holy Cross Pilgrimage
The first dozen participants in this summer’s pilgrimage to the birthplace of Holy Cross came back transformed, ready to infuse what they learned into their work on campus and relationships with their students and colleagues. For ten days, they walked in the footsteps of Basil Moreau in LeMans, Chartres, and Basse-Normandie, and spent time on Mont St. Michel, Arromanches, and Bayeaux reflecting on their roles as co-disciples living out the charisms of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Support was provided by the Garaventa Center, provost’s office, SOPHIA, and the University’s deans. This link will take you to a 4-minute video of highlights.
