Rev. Edwin Obermiller, C.S.C., is returning to The Bluff in July to serve as special assistant to the vice president within the university relations division. Fr. Ed will also serve as a pastoral resident in Kenna Hall.
Fr. Obermiller left the University in 2006 to serve as the director of the Office of Vocations for the United States Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross. In 2009 he was named an assistant provincial with oversight for the offices of vocations and development, and the creation of the Office of Communications.
Fr. Obermiller worked at the University of Portland from 1995 to 2006. During that time, he served as director of campus ministry and assistant superior of the Holy Cross community. He also helped create new hall chapels, a University prayer book, and led volunteer service trips abroad. In 2003, he was honored with the Miltner Administrative Award, the highest employee award bestowed by the University.
