As part of ongoing efforts to improve the security and accessibility of our campus wireless service, Information Services will be making some significant changes to University of Portland’s Wi-Fi networks. On Wednesday, August 26th at approximately 7 a.m. the Pilots and PilotsWPA Wi-Fi networks will no longer be broadcast.
Going forward the following Service Set Identifiers (SSID’s) will be available:
UPStaff – This SSID can be used by all Faculty and Staff with a valid UP network account.
UPStudent – This SSID can be used by all Students with a valid UP network account. UPStudent supports all wireless devices and gaming consoles
UPGuest – This SSID can be used by parents, visitors and conference guests. Users are allowed to self-register and are no longer required to have a shared password. UPGuest registrations last for 24 hours. After the 24 hour period has expired you will be required to register again.
