Fall Production: Everybody (Nov. 17–20)
You are invited to UP Theater’s second production of the fall, Everybody. The play follows Everybody as they journey from life into death to confront life’s greatest mysteries: who are we? How do you create community? What makes a good life? Award-winning playwright Brandon Jacobs Jenkins brings us on the ride in this irreverent and surprising riff on the 15th century morality play, Everyman. Underscoring the shared hopes, fears, and randomness of the human experience, the cast for this production will be chosen by lottery during each performance. This is a play you will want to see more than once: no two performances will be the same! Join us for this comedic, thought provoking, and immersive theatrical experiment.
Performances are November 17–19 at 7:30 p.m. and November 20 at 2 p.m. in the Mago Hunt Theater. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. Faculty and staff are eligible for half-price tickets with the promo code HALF4FACSTAFF. Tickets may be purchased HERE.
Go to up.edu/theater for more information.

Employee Donors Make a Difference for UP Students
Each year, hundreds of UP faculty and staff members like you donate in support of students and programs here on The Bluff. Some employees fund scholarships, on their own or as a group. Some give crucial funds to centers and programs that impact student experiences such as Moreau Center Immersions, Campus Ministry, and first-generation student programming. Others give in support of their favorite academic program or Pilot Athletics team.
As an employee, there are many ways you can give:
- Make a recurring payroll deduction: Give when you get paid! Set up your donation to be automatically deducted from your paycheck. Sign up here >>
- Give a monthly gift or one-time gift: Make your donation by credit card online (giving.up.edu/donate) or by mailing a check to the Office of Development, Waldschmidt Hall.
Employees who give to Athletics also receive the additional benefit of being able to join the Pilot Club donor society (https://giving.up.edu/athletics) at a 50% discount. Join now with a gift of $250 or $20.83 per month to your favorite Portland Pilots Athletics fund. When you join Pilot Club by November 18, you will be entered to win tickets to see the Portland Pilots Men’s Basketball team compete in the Phil Knight Invitational (https://www.rosequarter.com/hoops/phil-knight-invitational).
When faculty and staff members give, you send a powerful message to Pilot families, alumni, businesses, foundations, and friends of the University—and most importantly, to students—that those closest to UP invest in its mission and student success. Thank you for your ongoing support of students!
Contact Jessie Lamb, Director of Annual Giving, at lamb@up.edu with any questions.
Bluff Road Update
Please note Bluff Road is now preserved for low-speed vehicles (LSVs), pedestrians, and bicycles only. All street vehicles should use Van Houten Place.
We are currently in a soft transition and have placed A-frame signs on Bluff Road with this information, please respect the signs. With approval from the Portland Bureau of Transportation, we will soon be replacing the signs with bollards as a more permanent measure to restrict street vehicles from using Bluff Road.
The expansion of the Franz River Campus has greatly increased traffic of all types on both Bluff Road and Van Houten Place, resulting in several near misses. Preserving Bluff Road for lower speed traffic will create safer routes for everyone to access the lower campus.
