The Collaborative for International Studies and Global Outreach (CISGO) is pleased to announce the continuation of the Kate Regan Faculty Development grants for AY2022–23. A generous donor has created a grant to support faculty in the Humanities (English, History, International Languages and Cultures, Performing and Fine Arts, Philosophy, and Theology) whose teaching and scholarship encompasses international and intercultural topics. The donor desires that this grant will honor Kate Regan, who was a tireless advocate for junior faculty; therefore, applications from junior faculty will be given priority.

Join us on Wednesday, September 28, at 7:15 p.m. in the Buckley Center Auditorium with internationally recognized cultural critic of the Hebrew Bible, Susanne Scholz, PhD. A voice for justice, she has taught and written tirelessly to expose, deconstruct, and resist systemic injustice. Her call for solidarity among the Global South and the Global North receives renewed urgency in light of the relentless emergence of a robotic, technocratic, surveillance driven future. Scholz is Professor of Old Testament at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. Her research focuses on feminist biblical hermeneutics, cultural studies, and the epistemologies and sociologies of biblical interpretation. Lecture followed by book signing. Free and open to all. Jony Gregory joined the Campus Ministry and Residence Life teams this past summer as Pastoral Resident in Fields Hall. He previously worked as Assistant Headmaster & English teacher at St. Philip’s High School & College in Dinajpur, Bangladesh.
Taylor Miller-Lim joined UP last year as Housing Coordinator in the Office of Residence Life. Prior to this she was the Housing and Meal Plan Coordinator at Seattle Pacific University.
Grant Maxfield joined UP last year as Office Manager in the Office of Residence Life. Prior to this he worked at UP in Facilities Services. He has also worked in politics and fundraising.
Jenna Morgan joined UP last year as Assistant Hall Director in Shipstad Hall. Prior to this she taught and worked in Campus Ministry, Student Activities, and Academic Support at Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School.
