CTL Presents: Some Assembly Still Required (Feb. 20)

All faculty and staff are invited to join the CTL, Nicole Ralston (SOE), and Valerie Peterson (MTH) to discuss understanding and supporting today’s college students, some of whom may need additional support. We’ll explore how the rise of new media, K-12 education reforms, standardized testing culture, and pandemic disruptions have shaped our current students’ learning habits and academic expectations. Spring 2025 Internship & Job Fair (Feb. 21)

The Career Education Center is hosting the Spring 2025 Internship & Job Fair on Friday, February 21, from 1–4 p.m. The fair brings together over 95 organizations offering summer jobs, internships and full-time positions across various industries. Join Outdoor Pursuits and Garaventa Center for a Walk In The Park: Hoyt Arboretum (Feb. 22)

UP staff, faculty, and students are invited to join the Garaventa Center and Outdoor Pursuits for a walk in Washington Park’s Hoyt Arboretum! This hike will explore themes in ReadUP’s visiting author, Cheryl Strayed’s book, Wild, as we hike around the arboretum and enjoy some of the wonderful nature that Portland has to offer. Bridging the Divide: Perspectives on Current Times and Social Issues of Today—Black Catholics (Feb. 27)

Join us for a lecture event with Dr. Darren Davis, Snyder Family Mission Professor at the University of Notre Dame. Davis is the author of “Negative Liberty: Public Opinion and the Terrorist Attacks on America,” and his research interests include most areas in public opinion and political behavior. (Read More).
