New to The Bluff—Amanda Hanincik—Title IX Coordinator
Amanda Hanincik, from Grand River Solutions, has joined UP to serve as Title IX Coordinator. Amanda previously worked as the Director of Educational Equity and Title IX Coordinator at Lafayette College where she played an integral role in preparing for and implementing policies and procedures to comply with the 2020 and 2024 Title IX regulations. NETWORK MAINTENANCE (Oct. 17)
Information Services will be performing network maintenance from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 17. This will impact both wired and WiFi connections and users may experience intermittent issues accessing the internet through the campus network. UP internet resources, such as PilotsUP and the UP website will also be inaccessible intermittently during this maintenance window. (Read More).
“Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” (Oct. 20)
In partnership with the American Cancer Society, UP will host the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walkathon on October 20 starting at 9 a.m. Making Strides of Oregon and SW Washington is the premier breast cancer walk in the area. (Read More).
Tibetan Nuns Jangchub Jamtse USA Tour (Oct. 21)
Campus Ministry, in partnership with Wholistic Peace Institute, will host a special event on campus with the Tibetan nuns of Jangchub Choeling Buddhist Nunnery in India, on their first-ever USA tour. Their performance will encompass profound Buddhist spiritual practices with Tibetan tradition and symbolism. (Read More).
The Schoenfeldt Distinguished Writers Series Welcomes Viet Thanh Nguyen (Oct. 23)
The Schoenfeldt Distinguished Writers series is delighted to welcome novelist and memoirist Viet Thanh Nguyen to our campus for a talk on Wednesday October 23. Nguyen is the author of the Pulitzer-Prize-winning novel “The Sympathizer” and works as a professor at the University of Southern California. (Read More).
