After five years as the extraordinary Coordinator for Diversity and Inclusion Programs (DIP), we wish a fond farewell to Yuri Hernández Osorio. Yuri has accepted a new position at the DREAM (Diversity, Respect, Equity, Action, Multiculturalism) Office at the University of California Berkeley, School of Public Health. The DREAM Office made the right choice after their national search, and they will be fortunate to have Yuri at the helm. Her work at UP to support diversity, equity, and inclusion has been second to none. Together with her team of student workers, Yuri has worked tirelessly to make UP a more inclusive and welcoming place for all students. She has transformed DIP and has built a lasting legacy with her development of UP Connections, the Latinx Faculty/Staff Affinity Group, Stock UP, and seemingly countless other programs. She has been a trusted mentor to dozens of students and colleagues alike, and a relentless advocate for justice.
Her talents will serve her well at UC Berkeley. The Office of International Education, Diversity, and Inclusion will miss our good colleague. Her generous efforts and contributions to our team have uplifted our spirits and made us whole. We wish her the very best in her new role. ¡Felicidades Yuri!
Her last day at UP is February 18.
