U. S. Senator Patrick Leahy to Address UP Students, Faculty and Staff on September 5

United States Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont) will address University of Portland students, faculty and staff during an open conversation on Thursday, September 5 from 10-11:15 a.m. in the Brian J. Doyle Auditorium/Dundon-Berchtold Hall (Room 004). Senator Leahy is a friend of UP and the Holy Cross community; and is the brother-in-law of the late UP political science professor Fr. Claude Pomerleau, C.S.C. First taking office in 1975 and currently the longest-serving member of the Senate, Senator Leahy will address his career in public service and today’s political environment. Following his remarks, Senator Leahy will take questions from the audience. The event is open to the UP community.

The session briefly highlighted some of the innovations concerning the use of AI in leadership coaching, practice/training, and coaching ongoing developmental growth. October, 2024. Dave Houglum, Director of Leadership Studies and Leadership Professor of Practice, Franz Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, presented nine, one-hour invited leadership presentations for the European Leadership Programme in Brussels, Belgium. Houglum also provided individual leadership coaching sessions to many of the programme’s Fellows and to the staff of the Jesuit European Social Center (JESC). The European Leadership Programme draws emerging leaders from across Europe to participate in a five-month leadership development programme. October 12-16, 2024.
