This paper is entitled, “Diversity Checkup: A Study of Multicultural Medicine” and appears in the open-access journal, Journal of Community Medicine & Health Education.

Lauren Berger, psychological sciences, presented “Evaluation of the Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA) Graduate Student Leadership Institute Pipeline Program” at the Asian American Psychological Association national convention, October 1-3, 2021 (virtual). Four undergraduate students – Grace Adam (ECN), Jordan Hammock (PSY), Olivia Nomura (PSY), and Alyssa Reed (PSY) – contributed to the program evaluation and invited presentation.
Stephanie Salomone, mathematics, presented three talks at the University of Nebraska Omaha. The UNO STEM TRAIL Center hosted her Teaching Practices Workshop, Got Questions?, as well as her plenary talk at the 2021 Summit, entitled The Making of a T1 Designation, which is joint work with Eric Anctil, Carolyn James, Valerie Peterson, Tara Prestholdt, and Heather Dillon. Salomone also facilitated a 2-hour professional development to the UNO mathematics department entitled Making Teaching Matter More: Active-learning Strategies and Barriers to Implementation, which is also joint work with those listed above.
Stephanie Salomone, mathematics, has accepted a service position on the Committee on the Teaching of Undergraduate Mathematics (CTUM) of the Mathematical Association of America as a Member of the Equity Pedagogies Working Group, for a term from September 10, 2021, until March 10, 2023. She will work on identifying portions of the MAA Instructional Practices Guide that need additional attention on equity and inclusion, recommending of resources and content related to equity-based pedagogies, and recommending of strategies that attend to equity and inclusion.
