Khalid Khan, Shiley School of Engineering emeritus, was selected as the winner of iUrbanteen’s 2019 Compass Award, to be presented at the 9th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Breakfast on Saturday, January 19, in Vancouver, Wash. Khan is being honored as one of the founders of the Islamic Society of Southwest Washington, Clark County’s only mosque, and for his life’s work to promote harmony, diversity, and acceptance in the community.
Andrew Nuxoll, Shiley School of Engineering, has been appointed as a Fulbright Specialist by the Fulbright Specialist Program at World Learning and will take part in a faculty exchange to Thailand in July 2019.
