David De Lyser, performing & fine arts, participated in the Voces Academy Summer Conducting Programme, Aug 14-19, Worcester, UK. Along with 8 other conductors from Japan, Denmark, England, Korea, Mexico, France, Germany and Lithuania, he worked with Master conducting pedagogue Peter Hanke (Denmark), leading the UK professional chamber choir, Evoke, in rehearsals and concerts in the Worcester Cathedral. The Programme is part of the annual Worcester Festival and associated with the Elgar School of Music.
Jeff Kerssen-Griep, communication studies, led a three-day training in May for Biola University faculty in L.A. on communication-centered instructional practice. In July, he joined the Holden Villlage community’s teaching faculty (http://www.holdenvillage.org/education/summer-teaching-faculty/) to lead two weeks of workshops on navigating cross-barrier interpersonal encounters in light of systemic oppressions and privileges.
