Heather Dillon, Karen Eifler, Norah Martin, Valerie Peterson, and Stephanie Salomone received the “Joy of Teaching” grant from Collegium in May 2018. This work is an extension of a 2017 NSF grant to help UP faculty work on changing the culture of teaching. The project focuses on creating a culture of reflective teaching using evidence-based methods that have been shown to be effective for STEM students. UP faculty discussed how to inspire a broader conversation about teaching for mission. The new Collegium grant supports both efforts by creating a “Joy of Teaching” discussion group for UP faculty to develop mission-centered teaching.
