David De Lyser, music, who serves as artistic director and conductor of the Choral Arts Ensemble of Portland, placed third nationally for the 2016-2017 American Prize Competition for Choral Performance, Community Division.
Larry Larsen, performing and fine arts, designed the scenery for Portland Actors Conservatory’s production of Jose Rivera’s “Marisol,” which is playing at the Shoebox Theater through December 17.

Sophia Tzeng, business, was notified that Portland based nonprofit Innovation Law Lab has been recognized by The Financial Times, which has shortlisted the organization for its Innovative Lawyers Awards North America 2017. Tzeng serves as interim executive director for Innovation Law Lab, which was founded in 2014 in response to the mass detention and deportation of immigrants and asylum seekers. The Innovation Law Lab has successfully scaled effective legal representation for immigrants and refugees and has collaborated with several immigrant and refugee pro bono projects nationally, including the Dilley Pro Bono Project, the Karnes Pro Bono Project, the Fearless Lawyering Immigrant Justice Campaign, and others.
