Laura Dyer, Ryan Kenton, and Ami Ahern-Rindell, biology, attended a workshop on CUREs, “Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experiences,” sponsored by the MJ Murdock Charitable Trust on Saturday, November 11, in Spokane, Wash. They presented a poster highlighting their own experiences teaching biology lab courses utilizing authentic research projects as a means of engaging their students in the scientific process. This followed the Murdock Undergraduate Research Conference, which included several UP students majoring in biology, who presented posters or gave oral platform presentations on their collaborative research with biology faculty.
