Amelia Ahern-Rindell, Biology (emeritus), contributed to “Transforming Academic Culture and Curriculum; Integrating and Scaffolding Research Throughout Undergraduate Education.” This volume is a publication from the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) and is the product of a 6-year longitudinal research study funded by the National Science Foundation, for which Ahern-Rindell was a faculty consultant.
Marjorie Attis-Josias, Nursing, published “Centering diversity, equity, and inclusion in a regional professional nursing organization.” Nursing Outlook, 72(3), 1-7. May 2024.
Stephanie Salomone, Engineering, has been designated as a 2024 Steam Changemaker by Saturday Academy, with the accompanying statement: “She has dedicated her life to being a leading female-identifying voice in areas that have not always embraced that—Math, Engineering, Athletics. An 8-year Board Member, she has also stewarded and supported SA through many challenging waves. Her community work is something we can all be proud of.”
Aziz Inan, Engineering, collaborated with Farmers’ Almanac staff to publish the article titled, “When is The Next Palindrome Date?” in Farmers’ Almanac on January 29, 2024. Note that this year contains a total of 11 palindrome dates all occurring in the month of April and the last one is today, 4/29/24. Some news organizations referenced Inan’s article in their coverage of this month’s palindrome dates.
