Erica Bailey, School of Nursing and Health Innovations, was featured on OPB’s Think Out Loud, along with several of her colleagues from the Alliance of Black Nurses Association of Oregon (ABNAO). ABNAO has recently launched a podcast project, Black Care Matters, that centers the voice of Black nurses working in the state of Oregon. The project, funded by an Oregon Center for Nursing Well Being grant in 2023, highlights that racism in the workplace is eroding Black nurses’ well-being and seeks to transform that reality. The show is a safe space for BIPOC nurses to speak their truth, tell their stories, increase their joy, and problem-solve new interventions to eliminate white supremacy in healthcare.
