Geneviève Brassard, English, attended the annual Modernist Studies Association (MSA) conference, where she contributed to two events. The Beacon received a 1st place honor for “Best Organizational Diversity Initiative of the Year,” supported by the work and initiatives of Chiara Profenna, Kimberly Cortez, and Brie Haro. Kate Cuadrado received 1st place in the “Best General News Story” category for the feature “‘It’s not just UP:’ How the healthcare crisis is affecting UP’s nursing school.” Janea Melido received 3rd place in the “Best Profile” category. Noah Carandanis and Ryan Reynolds received 3rd place in the “Best Multimedia Feature Story” category. Kimberly Cortez received an Honorable Mention for “Best General Newsletter”.
