Simon Aihiokhai, theology, served as a reviewer of manuscripts, critical African studies. From October 21 to present. On October 26, Aihiokhai was also sworn in by Ambassador Sam Zakham, the former United States Ambassador to Bahrain, and Dr. Michael Jenkins, the President of the Universal Peace Federation, as an Ambassador for Peace. He accepted this recognition on behalf of all who experience erasures in our world. May you all be seen in the fullness of your light. He is honored to be among a community of global peace lovers and hopes to continue to use his voice and agency to make spaces of visibility for all who need this in our world. The work continues. Lars Erik Larson, English, presented a paper in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the Western Literature Association Conference on October 20. The presentation, “Nomadland’s Layered Spaces of Home on the Road,” explored the way Chloe Zhao’s Oscar-winning film portrays the ongoing problem of America’s fixed/place-based understanding of home.
