With the impending demolition of Howard Hall, a number of events have been planned to bid farewell to the old weathered hulk which has served the University above and beyond the call of duty these past 90 years:
Faculty and Staff Hoops: Monday, April 24, noon to 2 p.m. Relive the dead spots and drafts of Howard Hall with your basketball buddies. Many Pilot greats have graced this court including Jason Brough, Geoff Loomis, Joe, Jim, Susan & Tom Etzel, Jim Sollars, Brian Dezzani, Lou Masson, Art Schulte, Jim Covert, Jack Avina, and more. Hoop it up in the home of legends!
Last Swim Ceremony, Tuesday, April 25, 5 p.m. “Last Swim” The last day of swimming in the Howard Hall pool will be Tuesday, April 25. There will be a short “last swim” ceremony at 5 p.m., celebrating the Howard Hall pool and all it has provided to the UP campus over the years. Get your last swims and photos in; stop by to reminisce and to give respect to the pool that has provided fitness and fun to UP students, faculty and staff since it’s opening 90 years ago. Swimming will be open until 8 p.m., followed by intramural sports inner tube water polo championships, 10-11 p.m.
Photographers – Take some photos of the building, get some with your friends too, and share them with dezzani@up.edu #uportland #uprecservices.
