Tuition Freedom Day marks the date when a student’s tuition no longer covers the total cost of a University of Portland education. A full tuition check only covers about 80 percent of the full cost, and the University must rely on contributions by donors to make up the difference. The development office will mark this year’s Tuition Freedom Day with a celebration on Wednesday, March 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Academic Quad. Students will be encouraged to write thank-you notes to UP’s donors in exchange for a Voodoo donut. Faculty, staff, and other members of the campus community are also invited to participate in the celebration. Come enjoy the festivities, and show your appreciation for our donors.
