Join globally minded students, staff, and faculty for a brown bag lunch in the Commons every first Wednesday of the month from noon to 1:00 p.m. You’ll find us at the tall tables under the flag banners.
With guided questions on various topics, these conversations are an excellent opportunity to hear a range of perspectives on topics, share your own insights, and meet unlike-minded folks!
Upcoming dates and topics are as follows:
- Wednesday, October 5: “Are You on Time?—Cultural Differences on Time Perspective”
- Wednesday, November 2: “Let’s Have a Drink!—Cultural Practices on the Table”
- Wednesday, December 7: Thanks, but…—Cultural Practices and Taboos on Gift-Giving”
The goal of Travelers’ Lunch is to foster inclusive community and cultural openness. Do you or a group you are in have an idea for a future Travelers’ Lunch conversation? We would love to work with you!
Tips for thinking about lunch topics:
- How can an issue you care about be considered through a global lens? (Not sure? We can work on this together.)
- What kinds of questions or information can you share to encourage curiosity and empathy?
